Reverend Terrance M. McKinley
The Reverend Terrance M. McKinley is a member of the Ministerial Staff of the 23,000 member congregation, The Greater Allen A.M.E. Cathedral in Jamaica, New York where former Congressman, The Reverend Dr. Floyd Harold Flake is the Senior Pastor. For over 30 years Greater Allen has been committed to community and holistic education. Reverend McKinley has oversight of the church's nine educational programs, and manages two partnerships with institutions of higher ed.; NYACK College in NYACK, NY and New Brunswick Theological Seminary in New Brunswick, NJ. Now, Allen is being recognized as a full service educational institution in the midst of the community. Reverend McKinley recently coordinated several congregations in Queens as they participated in $1,000,000 New York City campaign to support the building of a monument to the legacy of The Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Reverend McKinley is an Itinerate Elder in the A.M.E. Church and also serves as the Young Adult Pastor at The Greater Allen A.M.E. Cathedral. In this capacity he has spiritual oversight of the church's 18 - 35 population; the fastest growing demographic of The Cathedral. He manages over $150,000 of the church's annual budget, hosts two national conferences annually, and coordinates on-going partnerships with external organizations such as Black Enterprise Magazine, The Small Business Administration and The Princeton Review graduate testing program.
In 2003, Reverend McKinley graduated from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York with a Bachelors Degree in Urban Planning. In 2007, he earned his Master of Divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary in Princeton, New Jersey. For a short while, Reverend McKinley was privileged to pastor in Soweto, South Africa. As a result of the experience his love for international community remains ablaze. He was recognized by Essence Magazine for his ministry in 2007, and in 2008 The African American Pulpit Journal honored him along side professors, preachers and pastors from across the country as one of "The 20 to Watch," future leaders under 40.
Over the course of his career, Reverend McKinley has been committed to scholarship, education, and ministry that meet the needs of people that need it most. His one desire after having lived a life of service is to hear the Lord say, "well done". |
